President's Message
My name is Louise Pelletier. I have been interested in student leadership for over 25 years and have played many leaders hip roles within my schools, my boards and my associations.
It has been my pleasure and my honour to lead QASAA since 2000 and I have seen the association grow from an association who might not be able to do a mailing because there were no funds to an association who is proud to hold well organized yearly or bi-yearly provincial leadership conferences who host over 300 student leaders and their advisors in different regions of the province of Quebec.
Our association also elects a provincial representative who attends the CASAA yearly executive meetings where important decisions are made for future national conferences and information is circulated to enhance the promotion of student leadership activities. Networking with other provincial association executives who have a wealth of experience has proven to be a great advantage for the growth of our own provincial association.
Over the years, we have built up our membership through provincial conferences and we are now able to offer a scholarship for outstanding Quebec High School student leaders who have proven themselves to be worthy of this honor. The forms for this scholarship can be downloaded from this website NOW!
We intend on building our website so that advisors from any of our Quebec high schools can consult it to find all kinds of information related to student leadership from activity ideas, to names of speakers to conferences held in Quebec and other conferences.
Building a comprehensive and user-friendly website is a formidable task.
We plan on making it bilingual to reflect our provincial reality but that might be under construction for another year. For the time being, we hope that this website will help the advisors who take care of student activities within our high schools to find answers to the questions they might have. You can reach me at louisepelletier@sympatico.ca. I will be happy to assist you in whatever way I can with any request you might have.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
Louise Pelletier
QASAA President
