QASAA Great Escape 2010 Cancelled


It is with deep regret and great disappointment that I am writing to inform you that we have had to cancel the 2010 Great Escape Conference. Unfortunately, the registration deadline has past and although we extended the deadline ten extra days until January 25th, we still did not receive enough registrations to hold the event. At this time, it would not be feasible to run the event with only 20 delegates.

We realize the importance of providing services to teacher advisors in the province to network, acquire skills and information to take back to their schools. This holds especially true for the advisors who do not have the resources available to them from their schools or school boards.

There will be a National Student Leadership Conference this fall to be held in Montreal for students and advisors. At the 2010 Nationals, advisors will have the opportunity to attend specially designed advisor- workshops and receive a leadership certification document. This may be an interesting option to the Great Escape for you. We will be posting information on the website to give you more information concerning registration which should open in March 2010.

The QASAA executive will be meeting in the spring to look at where the association will be headed in it’s goal to provide services to advisors and ensure student provincial conferences. An idea that is being looked at is a one day student leadership day to be held in February or March 2011. If the idea of hosting this day at your school is of interest to you, please contact Louise Pelletier, QASAA President at louisepelletier@sympatico.ca.

QSLC 2009 Cancelled

Unfortunately, the planned 2009 Provincial Student Leadership Conference, hosted by St-Patrick’s High School had to be cancelled. To learn more about the conference program, click here.
